Every Year of My Adult Life

A short one this week

Every culture has a tradition of renewal and new beginnings. In the tradition in which I was raised, that time is this week.

For me, it has never been not about resolutions or a critical assessment of the past year. Instead, it's a time of introspection without judgement. And it's not about accomplishments or my career. It's about my relationships with people — and with myself.

Did I treat others well, as I would want to be treated?
Am I becoming the kind of person I want to be?

I’ve asked myself those questions at this time of year, in one form or another, every year of my adult life.

I wish you all a happy and sweet year.

Looking forward to continuing the conversation...

Alan
